When I told a lot of my friends how Dr. Luongo was having us teach lessons, they thought that it was a very interesting way to teach because not only do you get to teach, but you learn a lot from it. I honestly think that I felt like crying because everyone decided to do there index cards around the same time, so it was a bit more difficult. I tried my best to get through it and hopefully if I ever have to do this kind of practice lesson again, or if this happens when I am in a classroom teaching, I can take the advice that my classmates and Dr. Luongo gave me in my review sheet and put it to use.
I must say that it has been fun to play the role of a child when someone else is teaching a lesson. I have had some very interesting index cards such as having to stay quite (and those who know me, HAS to know how hard of a card that was for me =) ), and I also had waving my coat in the air, asking to go to the bathroom 3 times and being the tattle teller of the class. It's interesting to see the way the teacher reacts to the actions that we are doing. I must say, I think a lot of them have handled it very well =).

Thanks for your reaction, Adalise!
I think using the behavior cards allows you to see the perspective of a REAL teacher as well as a student.
Undoubtedly, you will have students in your class who really DO have these problems and will be focused on poking other students, waving objects int he air, and screaming during class.
Just another day in the life of an elementary teacher!!
Your lesson was excellent! :)
Adalise, I agree with what you are saying, it was a very different experience teaching in the Test and Measurement class. There is no comparison! I felt the same way, "I thought my lesson was a disaster." I also realized that we feel that is fun to teach our lessons to our classmates, and we forget those little details that are so important and that have a great influence in the way we teach such as the students' behavior. We think that our future students are going to pay us attention 100% just like our classmates, but that is just a fantasy. We are students now and we know better that we are not always the role model students that our teachers want us to be.
I think that you did really well. I am sorry that i acted the way that I did. You did handle the whole class very well
HAHA! I am such a trouble maker! Totally not how I acted in Elementary School though. But I got to say you did handle it well. Sending me to the back of the room and making me apologize and stuff. You did good! I saw you kind of upset but like you said, that is the reality of it, and you learned a lot from it!
ohhh you felt like crying so cute!!
seriously now -its true that we have learned a lot from these lessons and the way we felt in class while presenting our lessons is probably the same way we would feel in a real classroom if things dont go our way. I think you handle things very well and you kept a sense of humor which is good.
